Understanding our results

We provide flexible working to support the lifestyle choices of our employees, operate a no single gender recruitment panel policy and deliver diversity training to employees across the business. Equality is embedded in our corporate culture.

We are proud of the activity we undertake across the business to treat all our people equally. This report demonstrates that there is opportunity for greater equality across genders. More men than women receive a bonus, and the bonuses they receive are larger, as a result of more men in senior roles.

We are committed to the development of a diverse workforce, including actions like:

  • Continual review of recruitment policies and processes – This year will be introducing an anonymised application process to reduce potential unconscious bias.
  • Promoting policies to support progression – Supporting our aim to offer an inclusive work environment to all employees.
  • Encouraging self-development – We are now able to offer UK employees access to STERIS University online and classroom based training programmes to support continuing professional development.
  • Offering all employees access to new career opportunities – We actively promote virtually all vacancies internally and have recently implemented a global HR system which will allow easier and more convenient access to our online recruitment platform.

As Senior Vice President STERIS Healthcare Services and a director of Synergy Health (UK) Limited, I can confirm that the data and information presented in this report are accurate and meet the requirements of the UK Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017. STERIS is committed to fairness and equal opportunities for all our employees.
