Matt Hill – Operations Manager
Joined STERIS in June 2002
Tell us about your journey with STERIS?
I joined STERIS in June 2002 as a Sterile Services Technician. During my time with the company, I have progressed my career and in 2014, I was promoted to Operations Manager for one of the Sterile Services facilities.
Describe what a day in your job role is like – (what does your job entail):
The main aspect of my role is planning and resource of labour, stock and logistics. I also cover planned preventative maintenance, human resources and quality compliance.
What did you do before you joined STERIS?
Before STERIS I worked for Rolls Royce. During my time there, I completed an apprenticeship and went on to be a quality inspector.
What is your favourite part about your role?
Knowing that what I do day to day contributes to the wider business and helps to give patients a better quality of life.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I go to the gym and really enjoy High Intensity Interval Training. I also like various outdoor activities and have participated in the Wolf Run.
Anything else that you would like to tell us about yourself:
I have recently completed LEAN facilitator training. This enables me to facilitate Kaizen events with the Continuous Improvement team.
